KCR Transmission rebuilt a transmission for our bus and we had a chance to meet in person at his business. While we were there we ordered a freeway flier for our 63 beetle and a lot of great advice.

Back in the early 2000's Kevin from KCR built me a trans that was unbelievable, he was so detailed and was very commutative throughout the process. Can't wait to do it again.

After pouring through the Samba pages for advice on transmission rebuilds, I contacted Kevin at KCR for a rebuild of my '61 bug swing axel during its resurrection to daily driver status. After looking at the huge price differences between KCR and Rancho, I had to ask... why? Kevin was great and responded that he uses carefully inspected ORIGINAL GERMAN parts for the rebuild, and not new tooled parts like Rancho. What a great experience I had dealing with KCR! They rebuilt my '61 fully synchro with upgraded 67-68 gearing and the taller 4th gear for freeway driving. This was in 2015, and I must say, after 5 straight years of driving my bug in LA traffic, this transmission has held up beautifully! There is no doubt in my mind that I made a really great decision to seek out KCR for the rebuild as Kevin tested and certified the build personally. The presentation was awesome, the service and delivery was as-promised and outstanding, and the price was unbeatable! THANK YOU KCR!

Excellent !! The presentation of the transmission after the rebuild is fantastic. Beautifully painted and all new hardware. My bug is my daily driver. But not a local daily driver. For almost 10 years I've taken this car everywhere. After the trans rebuild, I ran up to Bakersfield for a day from Victorville. And just 2 weeks ago I returned from a trip to Phoenix. The transmission worked flawlessly. In almost 10 years and 141,000 miles that I've put on this bug, I could not take a chance on an "over the counter" trans. Thanks Kevin.
